The Family Post History
Located near the coast of Southern California in Orange County, The Family Post, Inc. began in 2005 as an inspiration of founder and CEO Michael Sawtell. Mike, a first-time father at 47 years old, had just completed a five-year run as president and COO of a publicly traded Internet advertising company. As he had been cautioned would happen, Mike began pursuing the new full-time job documenting the life of his one-year-old daughter! Frustrated with storing his precious family photos and video clips in email boxes and photo printing sites, it occurred to him there had to be a more accessible and aesthetically pleasing way to share this priceless digital media with friends and relatives. The "wallpaper" designs and limited interfaces offered by other family website companies left him desiring much more, and as a result the concept for The Family Post was born.

The Vision
Mike decided to use his network of web resources and technology to create his own high-end, customized family website. He envisioned a product comparable in quality to a great corporate site but embodying the warmth and emotion of family photos and videos paired with elegant design and engaging music. Recognizing that many extended families today (including his own) are dispersed over various locations and time zones, he wanted a site with the latest Internet communication tools built-in to simplify and enhance interaction among family members.

Recognizing how essential and empowering this product would be to his own family, Mike foresaw that thousands of families across the country would benefit from the product, as well.
